Unlocking Whimsyshire “Cow Level”

REQUIREMENTS:
- 150k gold for normal mode.
- A few hours of time provided you aren’t horribly unlucky.
- Normal mode cleared.

NOTES:
- Many of these items or areas do not have a 100% spawn rate. Some of the spawn rates are very low (~10%). If the spawns do not appear, then you must remake the game until they do.
- The Staff is infinitely reusable for whichever difficulty it is made for. This guide is for making the normal mode staff and can unlock Whimsyshire an unlimited amount of times in normal mode. To create higher difficulty staffs you must upgrade them with plans which I have not yet located (please let me know and I can upgrade the description).

STEP-BY-STEP FARMING DIRECTIONS:
Black Mushrooms
Select Act 1, Last quest
- Enter WP: Cathedral Garden
- Enter Leoric’s Passage, then enter Cathedral Level 1 and search for mushrooms.
- TP out, re-enter Leoric’s Passage and enter Cathedral Level 2 and search.
- TP out, use waypoint to enter Cathedral Level 3 and search.
- TP out, use waypoint to enter Royal Crypts, head up to Cathedral Level 4 and search.
- Black Mushrooms seem to spawn in the side-rooms mostly.
- If you cannot find it in any Cathedral floor, then TP out and remake game.

Leoric’s Shinbone
Select Act 1, Last quest
- Enter WP: Leoric’s Manor
- Search the side-room fireplace to find “burnt logs”, which holds Leoric’s Shinbone.
- If the burnt logs do not spawn, then TP out and remake game.

Wirt’s Bell
Select Act 2, Quest 5
- Enter the Caldeum Bazaar, and find Squirt the Peddler to the west.
- Purchase Wirt’s Bell for 100,000 gold.

Liquid Rainbow
Select Act 2, Quest 9
- Enter WP: Path to the Oasis
- Follow southern wall to the right, you will find a small area pointing out to the south.
- If Zaven the Alchemist is not there, then TP out and remake game. If he is, talk to him and enter the Mysterious Cave.
- Search the Mysterious Cave for the Mysterious Chest which holds the Liquid Rainbow (it normally does not spawn next to the entrance — I was very lucky).
- If the chest does not spawn, then TP out and remake game.

Gibbering Gemstone
Select Act 3, Last quest
- Enter WP: The Bridge of Korsikk
- Enter the Fields of Slaughter and search for the Caverns of Frost (hint: gravitate more towards the middle of the area rather than the outside).
- If the Icefall Caves spawn instead of the Caverns of Frost, TP out and remake game.
- Enter Caverns of Frost Level 2 and search for Chiltara, a rare purple monster that seems to spawn near the portal exit.
- If he does not spawn, then TP out and remake game.

Staff of Herding Plans
Select Act 4, Last quest
- Enter WP: The Crystal Colonade
- Go north to the Gateway to the Silver Spire, continue north to the Silver Spire Level 1.
- Locate the Great Span (should appear as a quest on the minimap when you’re close to it).
- Defeat Izual, if he does not drop it then remake game (as I did in the video).
- Upon obtaining, while speaking with the blacksmith right-click the plans and they will appear in the crafting menu under weapons.

Entering Whimsyshire
Select Act 1, Last quest
- Craft the item and have it in your inventory.
- Enter WP: Old Tristram
- Go northwest and follow the path until you see a hole in the ground slightly south of the path.
- The Ghost of the Cow King will appear, speak with him and then enter Whimsyshire.
